School gun maniac Adam Lanza is to be cremated in secret to stop hate mobs targeting his remains.

There will be no ceremony for the 20-year-old killer who massacred 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, last week.

Instead, his body is set to be disposed of discreetly and then hidden, the Sunday People can reveal.

Funeral: Killer Adam Lanza is to be cremated in secret

The secrecy surrounding what happens to his remains is similar to that of the mass murderers behind the 1999 Columbine High School killings.

Last night Lanza’s body was still in the custody of police officials, who are refusing to reveal any funeral or disposal arrangements.

It came as another three of his victims were buried in services attended by hundreds of mourners.

Sources said Lanza’s businessman father Peter and 24-year-old brother Ryan have not yet claimed his body.

They apparently wanted to get the funeral of his mother Nancy – who he killed before his school rampage – out of the way before their thoughts turned to making his arrangements.

Nancy has already been secretly cremated in a service attended by a couple of dozen family and friends.

If the family do not claim Lanza’s body or refuse to identify him, then it is police protocol to record that no next of kin can be found.

A funeral home would then provide a list of volunteers willing to take custody of the body through the courts.

The remains would be buried or cremated with just over £1,000 of government money.

The families of the Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, who murdered 12 students before committing suicide, have never revealed their final resting place. The dilemma about Lanza’s funeral comes at the end of a harrowing week for Newtown, which has held multiple funerals for the victims of the tragedy.

There has also been growing anger over America’s gun laws, particularly after another atrocity on Friday in which three people were shot dead by a maniac who then killed himself in Frankstown, Pennsylvania.

Residents in the grief-stricken Connecticut town were incredulous that the National Rifle Association, America’s foremost defender of the right to bear arms, is not supporting even modest control on firearms and does not think assault weapons like the one used by Lanza should be banned.

Its spokesman Wayne LaPierre proposed instead that armed guards should be posted in every school in a bid to prevent similar tragedies.

At a bizarre press conference he claimed the killings were the fault of the media, film and TV scriptwriters, video game manufacturers and anti-gun crusaders.

His speech, which critics called “a delusional rant”, has been soundly derided across most of America.

Chris Murphy, who represents Newtown in the US congress, tweeted that it was “the most revolting and tone-deaf statement I’ve ever seen”.

Anger was loudest in Newtown, where resident Elizabeth Murphy, 42, fumed: “How dare they? We are all still grieving.” However. Right-wing Republican Utah senator Orrin Hatch said he thought posting armed guards at schools was “a good idea”.

More details about Lanza and his possible motives for America’s worst school shooting continued to emerge yesterday.

His mother apparently left him alone for three days and went on holiday to a hotel in New Hampshire, returning home the night before the massacre.

Friends said she often needed to escape the pressure of looking after her disturbed son and that the pair had not spoken while she was away on her mini-vacation as the pair had been having arguments about his future.

He had proposed joining the Marines, an idea rejected by his mother as she did not think he was suitable for a military career.

She had told friends her son was “like a ghost” and she may have been considering having him admitted to a mental hospital as she was apparently becoming increasingly worried about his state of mind.

Police believe Lanza may have brooded while alone in the basement of the family home, where he had a computer and where his mother kept her collection of guns and vented his anger on her return.

He shot his mother four times as she lay in bed and then drove to the school where he began his rampage before turning his gun on himself.

Schoolmates of the killer revealed that he could dismantle and reassemble a computer in minutes but could barely hold a conversation.

In high school, Lanza used to shrink against the walls of the hallways when classmates passed because he disliked being touched.

He wore the same blue shirt and khaki trousers to school every day and once gave a presentation to his class entirely by computer, never uttering a word.

Others said the introverted loner liked violent video games and had an online page dedicated to Satan.

Lt Paul Vance, of Connecticut Police, warned a full picture of Lanza would take weeks, if not months, to complete.

The killer’s computer has been taken to a specialist FBI lab.Experts are confident they will be able to uncover electronic clues despite damage to the machine. Expert Tony Fish said: “The digital footprint is not erased because the hard drive goes.”

Mr Fish added that while Lanza did not have a Facebook or Twitter account, he likely had an email address with a provider such as Google or Yahoo.

He added: “It means they have a copy of that data as well and because they have a copy of that data, it’s available to be searched and indexed and recovered. So the data is there.

“Having snippets of information can put you on a good enough lead allowing you to unlock things.”

Authorities in Newtown are now making efforts to bring some joy into the community over Christmas.

Officials are bringing a snow machine to a local park so children and their parents can have fun together. A family skate day has also been organized and local football teams have said residents can attend games for free.

Even the local aquarium and zoo are offering free admission to residents.

And firefighters are holding an ice-cream festival today. Fire captain Stan Thal said: “We want to show everybody love and kindness and we hope people will come out and join us.”

Neighbours of the children who survived the massacre have formed a Family Fund to support the bereaved parents and to raise money for them.

Resident Rebekah Harriman-Styles said: “We know all these families personally. Our kids play together. And everyone is asking, how can we help?”

Camp Scott murders - Camp Scott is a 410-acre (1.7 km2) compound that is located in the US state of Oklahoma.  The former Girl Scout camp is situated along the Snake and Spring Creeks near State Highway 82, in Mayes County.  In 1977, Camp Scott entered its 49th year as a keystone in the Girls Scouts of America program.  The annual summer camp began on June 12, 1977.  Around 6pm on the first day of camp, a large thunder storm struck the area.  This caused the dozens of campers to huddle inside their tents for the entire evening.  Inside of tent #8 in the Kiowa unit, housed three small girls named Lori Lee Farmer, 8, Doris Denise Milner, 10, and Michele Guse, 9.  What happened next cannot be adequately described.  The following morning, a camp counselor discovered the lifeless bodies of all three girls.  They had been raped, bludgeoned, and murdered.  The victim’s bodies were scattered over the surrounding forest land.  The event remains one of the worst mass murders in the history of Oklahoma.
In the weeks before the murders, strange events took place around Camp Scott.  Personal items began disappearing from the cabins and tents.  In one incident, a counselor reported that her doughnuts had been stolen, and inside the empty doughnut box was a disturbing hand-written note.  The author vowed to “murder three campers in tent 1.”  Because summer camps are rife with ghost stories, the note was treated as a prank and discarded.  After the murders, Oklahoma police launched one of the largest manhunts in US history.  Detectives ultimately focused their attention on a man named Gene Leroy Hart, who had been free since escaping from the Mayes County Jail four years earlier.  He had previously been convicted of raping two pregnant women.  Hart was arrested and tried for the crimes, but was ultimately acquitted of the killings in 1979.  Later that year he died of a heart attack while in prison.
During the publicized trial, the camp underwent many accusations, stemming from the fact that the girl’s tent was 86-yard (79 m) from any counselors.  Other campers reported that they witnessed a man peeking in their tents on the evening of the murders.  The day following the incident, Camp Scott was closed forever.  To date, the Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders remain unsolved and DNA testing has returned inconclusive results.  However, something is said to remain on the grounds of Camp Scott.  It has been claimed that when a heavy rain falls, the eerie sound of small girls crying can be heard.  Dark shadows are said to lurk and the sensation of someone walking around you has been reported.  Only true thrill seekers will stay a night within the walls of the Camp Scott compound.  In an interesting twist, the original Friday the 13th film was released in 1980, which is only three years after the violent murders.  The movie franchise has helped insert an urban legend in popular culture that summer camps are creepy and dangerous.  Camp Scott just might be.

When police searched the farm of Ed Gein, they were shocked to see a hanging figure, apparently Mrs. Worden. As Captain Schoephoerster later described in court:

“Mrs. Worden had been completely dressed out like a deer with her head cut off at the shoulders. Gein had slit the skin on the back of her ankles and inserted a wooden rod 3 1/2 feet long, and about 4 inches in diameter, and sharpened to a point at both ends, through the cut tendons on the back of her ankles. Both hands were tied to her side with binder twine. The centre of the rod was attatched to a pulley on a block and tackle. The body was pulled up so that the feet were near the ceiling. We noticed that there was just a few drops of watery blood beneath the body on the dirt floor, and not finding the head or intestines, we thought possibly the body had been butchered at another location.”

The victim is a young girl. Poor kiddo took a shot in the head which created pressure inside her skull strong enough to push one of the eyeballs out of the socket. As if the fact that she had to die so young was not bad enough, she also died looking very creepy owing to the popped eyeball.
